🖊️ Writing On Android Medium Is A Nightmare, And Here Is Why

Bait. I can’t write articles on Medium on Android because Android is lame.

I am sure it may come as a surprise for you, but I am actually writing most of my articles on my Android smartphone.

Is it possible? Yes. Medium app allows you to write articles. The editor works quite nice. At least it worked for several years.

But it is a month since writing became very difficult.

While writing the article in the Medium app, after some paragraphs the app notifies me it can not save the draft. It may have to do something with me switching between apps. For a while I have ignored the message. But quickly learned it means you can’t save anything you will write after seeing the message.

Now, I know I have to go back to the article list, and I will loose part of the article I wrote lately.

Moreover, going back to the article list shows a message I don’t have any articles or drafts.

At first I was scared because it looked like Medium decided to delete all my articles for an unknown reason.

But after a while I have learned that after closing the app and reopening it, I can again see my articles, and get back to the draft I was writing. Unfortunately loosing part of the work.

It’s not a problem I thought. I can use other text editor and than paste the text to the Medium…
