Windows Blue Screen of Death Is Dead — Stylish New Version Includes Auto Recovery
After nearly four decades, Microsoft has retired the iconic Blue Screen of Death. Windows 11 now features a minimalist black crash screen and a new Quick Machine Recovery system designed to automatically fix boot issues
Blue screen of death is a special full-screen message Windows shows when there’s an error it can not recover from. It was the final message saying that the computer now isn’t able to operate properly and the only thing you can do is to restart it, hoping for the best.
It didn’t propose any other solution than that, basically. You can’t even search how to fix the bug, because the computer doesn’t work. In the latest versions of the system it shows also QR code, link to some random corporate page and stop code to comfort people that something could be done to fix it. In older Windows it showed up more often, especially when memory data got screwed, with more checks over the time, it started to fade away, and mostly showed up due to hardware failure.
