Why are my articles so short?

Once in a while I get asked why my articles on Medium are 3–5 minutes long. I will tell you.

For me, technology and programming is not only my work I do for 16 years, but also a passion.

I was always fascinated by the things you can do by programming. I have finished computer science and became a BEng. When studying I have started to write a blog about programming. Later, I was hosting two podcasts, and started teaching programming.

Basically thought whole career I was and am learning and sharing my knowledge about coding.

One thing that I am specializing in, is making people interested in programming.

I know that today, to earn money from video tutorials you have to record a 20 minut video about a concept that can be easily explained in two minutes.

I know that to earn money on Medium you have to write essays about a function that is documented with three sentences.

Today, the Internet became a place where people earn money for taking your time.

A lot of time.

Some people hate, when they see I am giving you essentials, while they rather seen you watch their lengthy videos, or read long essays for their benefit

I strongly oppose this trend

Because:

  • It leads to overcomplicating simple issues
  • It discourages people from getting into tech
