🤣 They Blocked Users With 5 Char Passwords

We all make mistakes. It is natural part of development. Some of such mistakes are quite funny.

Today I will tell you about such example from Poland.

One of the more popular websites in Poland is called Wykop. Lately it has been rewritten from scratch.

Today I was browsing the page to read user complaints, as like with every major release there is a lot of these.

But that one complaint caught my attention because it’s quite funny (for me). A user reported that he has a 5 characters log password.

Since the new version has been released, he is however unable to login to the page:

I will translate it for you. The page tells him, that he can’t log in to the page, because his password is too short.

It means that in the new version of the website there are more strict rules for passwords. Passwords have to be at least 6 character long.

It is a good rule… however. The rule is enforced at the login 🤣

It means that the user can not login with his legimate passwords.

Moreover, he also tried to reset the password. To do it, you have to provide the old password and new one.
