😤 StackOverflow 2024 Results: Ditch Complex Stacks
StackOverflow 2024 Survey results are full of surprises. But the biggest is that complex stacks win a silver medal in frustration olympics
StackOverflow just released the results of annual survey among software developers. 2024 results are quite interesting.

These are the things I found the most interesting from answers of 65 000 developers worldwide.
1. Some Things Didn’t Change
Majority of developers have finished higher education. So contrary to popular beliefs, becoming a Bachelor or Master is useful. Developers are getting older and older. So the industry normalizes compared to older ones where age range is distributed among different generations.
2. Poland Is In TOP 8
Poland is top 8 country. Other notable countries in the toplist are Brazil and Netherlands with growing coding communities and professionals.
3. People Learn From Documentation
2023 and 2024 are surely oriented torwards providing better documentation. Just to mention revamps or React and Angular docs inspired by state of art Ember docs.
As we can see people learn from documentation. Bad documentation can cause problems for a new technology. Something we see for example in adoption of Rust.
Interestingly enought people don’t watch video tutorials anymore. It makes sense, it’s very hard to follow these. Written forms observe a big comeback with blogs and written tutorials.
