As I mentioned in the previous article, I’m currently not writing articles for several reasons. One of these reasons is a game called Shattered Pixel Dungeon.

I’ve included it in one of the articles featuring interesting open source projects. This game is so ok, I rather spend time playing it than writing an article. And this means a lot, because I don’t play games.

The game is written in Java and is available on multiple operating systems including Windows, Android and MacOS.

Aside from the fact it’s open source and in Java, it’s also a quite unusual game for today’s times.

The game doesn’t offer fancy, flashy graphics. It doesn’t include paywalls, ads or any interruptors.

It’s graphics is a pixel art, and all you do in the game is play a story of your character that goes down the dungeons to fight monsters and gather stuff.

Another interesting fact is that compared to nowadays games that do everything to keep you hooked, Shattered Pixel Dungeon does the opposite. The game is doing everything for you to uninstall it.
