Microsoft Teams Will Block Screenshots Of Meetings
There’s a rumor that Microsoft Teams will soon block taking screenshots and recording the meeting. According to that rumor if you’ll try to record the video on the laptop, the screen will be blank, the same goes for taking screenshots. Additionally, it will block audio, so you won’t be able to record it with laptop apps.
I can’t find any confirmation that it is true, so I wouldn’t be sure about it. However, since it’s now something that is widely debated now, let’s talk about it for a while.
Some years ago Android blocked recording calls. Up until some time ago you were able to record calls, and with one of the updates they blocked this possibility.
Not being able to record calls helps crooks, because it made it more difficult for people without technical skills to record calls from criminals trying to steal money from them, or obtain sensitive information.
Without a recording it became more difficult to proove what have happened and provide evidence to authorities.
Moreover, it made it difficult for people to consult with trusted people on phone calls that felt odd and malcious.
Not being able to record calls awards crooks and criminals, and makes regular people more vulnerable to all sorts of harmful attempts.
