⚠️ Maxim Shafirov Announced JetBrains Closed All Investments In Russia
--
During 9 months JetBrains secured relocation of over 800 employees in the move to cut ties with the terrorist state
Maxim Shafirov announced in a post on JetBrains’ blog that all company investments in Russia are now closed.
The announcement concludes the work done by the company since March 11, when the CEO of JetBrains announced closing all sales in Russia and Belarus, and R&D projects in Russia.
During that period, the company decided also to close offices in Moscow, Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
Over 800 specialists working for JetBrains were relocated to already established and new offices, including Cyprus, Serbia and Armenia.
JetBrains is know for it’s software development tools, including, but not limited to PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, GoLand, Webstorm, ReSharper and the new IDE called Fleet.
JetBrains was vocal about condemning the terrist attack of Russia on Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion. As Maxim Shafirov writes:
While it has been a very challenging and difficult time for the company, it cannot even remotely be compared with the horrendous situation that the people of Ukraine are facing on a daily basis, caused by the war. Once again, we condemn this aggression, and have and will continue to stand by the people of Ukraine, including our colleagues and their families.
Moscow attacked Ukraine on 24 February 2022. In the continued war Moscow is accused of committing war crimes (warning, disturbing images, +18).
Intensified attacks on power stations and civilian infrastructure severely disrupts people’s access to energy, water and heating.
More and more Ukrainians shelter and gather in designated places to charge their phones, get some food and heat themselves when temperatures start to drop below -5 degree Celcius (23 degree Fahrenheit).
Check out your local opportunities to support Ukrainians, and other people around the world that suffer from the terrorism and war.
