Let's say someone says he will throw a party on 05 03 2026 (mm dd yyyy)

To put it into my calendar I have to choose year (2026), month (5) and than day (3). In that specific order.

When I think about a date, I also first recall a given year, month, and than day.

So it makes sense to me for someone to provide month first and day second.

Year as the last element also makes sense to me. For a special reason. First and last element of a message are the most important. People tend to remember them the most. So the day, as the most specific information is at the best place being between month and year.

Do you remember exact date of the party? I bet you remember at least the month and year 🙂

That's why I consider that format practical even though I don't use it. It has a merit to use it, just like every other I guess
