How I Downloaded Almost 1000 Freepik Licenses At Once
For all my works as a creator I use licensed graphics. It means I make sure authors give me the right to use them. It includes using paid services with graphical resources.
One of such services is Freepik. Freepik is great, and I’ve used it for many years. It’s convenient, because you have a list of all your assets and licenses online.
The latter one is especially important to have, because in case of a copyright claim, you have to prove you have the license. Saying you had it there is not enough.
It’s nice to assume your online services will be there always. But in case of data corruption, service going offline, or unsubscribing from it, you may lose instantly access to your licenses. And not having a proper license may cost a lot of money. So it’s good to have your own copy of all licenses for resources you use.
Fortunately, Freepik offers a way to download licenses in PDF format. It’s nice. But after years of using the service, it occurred I had collected 951 assets on my account. Since you download license by one it would take a lot of time to download all.
Ideally assuming 10 seconds per file it would take 2.6 hours to download them all. With a manual process of clicking and saving. More realistically, since the downloading is not blazing fast…
