12 years ago Go was born. From this article you will learn the status of Go language, and what happens around the language lately.
What is Go?
Before we dive into the current state just a short rehearsal. Go was designed in 2007 by Google as a cross platform language. It’s mascot is a gopher. On 2/08/2022 Go 1.19 was released. It is the current version. The next, 1.20 is planned for the first quarter of next year.
Go (referred earlier as Golang) is aiming at providing a generic use strictly typed language, offering documentation, testing, fuzzing, concurrency features and debugging tools.
All of this to provide a fast and safe environment to write native servers, machine learning systems, big data processors and more.
Go programming language can be used side by side with C, C++, Java, C#, server side Javascript, Typescript, Python, Rust and all other great languages not mentioned here.
What is equally important Go has a great reception from their users marking eight place as the most loved language in the StackOverflow Developer Survey 2022:
