DeepSeek has become quite populal lately. It is a general artificial intelligence created in China. The company is based in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, which is located very close to Shanghai, on China’s eastern coast. It’s like New York to USA.
DeepSeek is funded by a hedge fund called High-Flyer Quantitative Investment Management, co-founded by Liang Wenfeng in 2015. Liang, who has a background in finance and trading, is currently acting as DeepSeek’s CEO. While DeepSeek was officially established in 2023, the project traces its roots back to High-Flyer’s early Wolfs of the Wallstreet era.
