🥈 Angular Was The Second Most Demanded Framework In 2022

Angular Is In A Good Place To Become A Leader!

Frontend landscape changes all the time. Not so long ago major web games were written in Flash. Now Flash is gone. We used Javascript just to accompany it with jQuery, and now a growing number of developers use frontend frameworks and extend Javascript with Typescript.

In that fast paced world of frontend development its sometimes hard to know what technologies are in demand.

It is however important, because based on such information you plan your career moves and allocate time for education.

Read to the end for a bonus!

If it comes to frontend frameworks I was pretty sure React is currently the most popular framework, followed somewhere far behind by Angular and Vue.

So it came to me as a surprise that the proportions between these frameworks are so different.

DevJobScanner just released a result of their job offer research based on job offers from a period of 14 months (more or less for 2022 year).

Here is an illustration from the research results:

React is not the ultimate leader of frontend frameworks anymore according to this research. It was mentioned only in 54% of job offers. It still gives React the first, undisputed place, however, the distance to the competitors is melting. Especially to Angular.

Angular was mentioned in 32% of job offers. It is taken into the consideration in one on three job offers. It means that Angular is holding it’s position tightly and with the possible decline of React’s usage, they may someday have the same share of job offers.

The new kid on the block is Vue being mentioned in 10% of job offers. It places Vue somewhere between the asteroid belt of frameworks and two major competitors, meaning Vue escaped the crowd and joins the podium.

As you can see, the frontend framework is pretty different from what we might have expected. React is great, but not an ultimate leader…
